Figurines in Blue

Figurines circa 2007
I just saw today via Seattle’s coolest web site, Three Imaginary Girls, that the new Figurines record will be getting released stateside on 11 September, only a month after its 13 August release in Denmark. When The Deer Wore Blue will be their third album and their second for the Seattle based The Control Group. I wonder if TCG has any intention of putting out their hard to find first record, Shake a Mountain?  Deer Wore Blue was recorded in Sweden with Jeremy Lemos.  I was (and still am) a huge fan of their previous record, Skeletons, so I have great expectations for the new record.

The first single, Hey Girl has been up on their myspace page for a few weeks, and is waiting for you to hear it. It’s more Danish goodness with a chugging rhythm, warbly guitar and Christian Hjelm sounding like he was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest.  If you are anti-myspace and since there doesn’t seem to be an mp3 floating around of Hey Girl, you can hear this cool remix of Silver Ponds by Ben Watt (ETBTG) right here.

myspace: The Figurines

mp3: Figurines – Silver Ponds (Ben Watt Dub)

Update: The new single courtesy of the Control Group…

mp3: Figurines – Hey Girl
