Bring on the Dancing Horses

There’s a Sambassadeur record up there somewhere.
The new Sambassadeur single (due out 29 August) sounds like the band have been OD’ing on the Pretty in Pink soundtrack.  It starts off with a Bring on the Dancing Horses string intro, moves into some If You Leave synths, then on to New Order Elegia synths and climaxes in, you guessed it, Pretty In Pink style saxophone.  Leave it to the Swedes to encapsulate an entire 80’s movie soundtrack into one song.  Oh, and it’s a pretty nice song too, satiating my anticipation for the new Sambassadeur album due in October via Labrador.

  1. Bjorn Yttling didn’t produce this did he?

I really liked “kate” though the first album didn’t do a whole lot for me.

  2. Bill, Mattias Glava produced the record…interesting choice. There were a few songs on the first album that were good, but it was Kate and whole coastal affairs ep that really made me like them.
